The "Congress leave" mission has now reached Karnataka. Latest buzz is that one senior leader of Congress C M Ibrahim is set to leave Congress. He is likely to make official announcement any day. It is said that Ibrahim is not happy with the present Congress leadership in Karnataka. He also slammed Siddaramaiah for the mess. Ibrahim likely to join JDS. He was a union minister when HD Deve Gowda was the prime minister. in 1996. Ibrahim did not participate in the much publicised Congress water yatra in the state. It is said that he was keeping safe distance from the state leadership for quite some time. He is likely to resign from the MLC post also.
Ibrahim was hobnobbing with the JD(S) leaders and reportedly praised JDS leadership. If he swithched over to JDS, it will be a big blow to the Congress because the party will lost a known Muslim face. Congress appointed BK Hariprasad as the opposition leader in the legislative council for which CM Ibrahim was also a strong contender. A staunch follwer of Siddaramaiah, now criticising him for not getting approved his candidature to council opposition leadership.
Though he is yet to open his cards.. As per avaolable indications, he has several options. Ibrahim himself indicated that there are several options before me, including the All India Trinamool Congress, Aam Aadmi Party and the Samajwadi Party. Even Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is in touch with me. The Congress is a closed chapter fo rme and there is no option but to exit, Ibrahim said.
