Meticulous monitoring stunned rebel TMC MPs

A meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi left many of the rebel Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs stunned. PM Modi on Friday met all 19 members of the breakaway group at 7 LKM, assuring them of his unwavering support to them. But the biggest surprise came as the meeting ended over morning tea. Before the MPs departed, the Prime Minister personally handed each of them an A4 size one report card in white envelope containing a personalised digital performance report.
Far from being a conventional political briefing, the report card detailed each MP’s digital footprint over the past 90 days. It included their activity across social media platforms such as X, Instagram and Facebook, highlighting their engagement, outreach and online presence. Several MPs were taken aback by the level of detail in the reports, with many admitting they had not expected such meticulous monitoring of their public and digital engagement.
