Market rally extends 4th session; Nifty above 25,100

The Indian equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty extended gains for a fourth straight day on Tuesday, supported by buying in auto, consumer durables, oil & gas, energy, and realty stocks,driven by optimism over the Reserve Bank of India’s new lending reforms and positive corporate cues ahead of the September quarter results.At close,the Sensex was up 136.63 points or 0.17 percent at 81,926.75, and the Nifty was up 30.65 points or 0.12 percent at 25,108.30. 
Jio Financial, Bharti Airtel, Eternal, Eicher Motors, HCL Technologies were the top gainers on the Nifty, while losers included Trent, Tata Motors, Axis Bank, Tata Consumer and HUL.On the sectoral front,energy, oil & gas, pharma, telecom, consumer durables rose 0.3-2%.BSE Midcap index added 0.4% and smallcap index was ended marginally lower.
Rupee Close: 
On 7 Oct'25,the Indian rupee fell 4 paise to close at 88.78  against the US dollar on Tuesday, weighed down by a strong American currency overseas and unabated foreign capital outflows.The domestic currency traded in a tight range as investors preferred to remain on the sidelines amid uncertainties over global trade, forex traders said.

Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Investments stated,the domestic equity market started on a positive note, supported by favorable global cues and anticipation surrounding the upcoming earnings season. However, the market ended with flattish gains as expectations for Q2 FY26 earnings remain modest. Market’s short-term focus will shift toward corporate commentary for insights into potential recovery in Q3.Sectoral performance was mixed, with financial stocks advancing on the back of RBI reforms announced in the last policy meet, whereas FMCG stocks underperformed due to subdued pre-result updates.
Market experts recommended five stocks to buy on Tuesday-NDR Auto Components, Anup Engineering, Krishna Institute Of Medical Sciencs, Yatharth Hospital & Trauma Cre Srvcs, and Ram Ratna Wires.
