Mahansar-The Royal Sip

A documentary film on Heritage Liquor of Rajasthan covers exactly what heritage liquor is and how it is made. The 19-minute film tells the story in an entertaining manner that reflects the old-world charm of Rajasthan with bytes of distinguished personalities like Maharaja Gaj Singh of Jodhpur. The film is a story of some rebel liquor craftsman, alchemist and 250 years old heritage liquor. By making this film we set out to tell human stories about the world of heritage liquors of the great Thar desert where liquor is a part of the tradition and culture.

Aditya Sangwan, an independent filmmaker claim that film is a delightful love letter to all the alcohol lovers ‘jinki ragon me khoon k saath daaru bhi behti hai’ and to the craftsmen, alchemists, local people and to all the souls for those ‘Culture and Heritage Matters’. A bottle of heritage liquor costs a lot more than a regular bottle of alcohol, as it reflects tradition, craft, history, royalty and Rajasthan. This drink gives you so much culture. Embrace that. The film covers the story of Mahansar Heritage Liquor, a liquor which was produced by the Mahansar Royal Family who has been producing heritage liquor since British rule (1768) started in India.

For centuries, the colorful tales have been shaped around the Mahansar Liquor, like its one drop can beat a regular alcohol bottle. Thakur Durjan Saal Singh ji of Mahansar started the commercial production of Mahansar liquor for the first time in 1890.  Let's dip into the royal past of Mahansar Liquor. The film has been shot over five districts of Rajasthan for over six months. "Our film is the ambassador of the heritage liqueurs of Rajasthan with an Exploration of its colorful history, charismatic characters, and uniquely royal process of making liquor", Sangwan said. So, enjoy the herige liquor

Film as a format doesn’t allow the viewer to taste the drink, so we must use the tools of cinema to emulate one of the most complex and nuanced sensory experiences known to humankind. As per information,Neil Armstrong and Roger Moore aka James Bond have reportedly also tasted the heritage liqueurs of Rajasthan.

It was a team work and all members of our team worked very hard, says Sangwan.
