Anoushka Chauhan salutes soldiers this Kargil Diwas

Kargil Vijay Diwas, a day known for India's victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War for ousting Pakistani Forces from their occupied positions on the mountain tops of Northern Kargil District in Ladakh in 1999, celebrates 25 years this year. Actor Anoushka Chauhan, who is currently seen in Krishna Mohini on Colors, says that India is at the position that it enjoys today thanks to the security it enjoys on its borders.“India today is emerging as a superpower, and the world is talking about us. Development, entrepreneurship, networking, and technological advancement—you name it. But this is possible because of the peace established by the brave soldiers guarding the most conflicted borders of our nation,” she says.
She adds, “This year, we commemorate 25 years of Kargil Vijay Diwas. The Kargil War was fought in 1999, the same year I was born. Our victory not only saved the crown of the nation but also the future of our nation's youth. We were born and grew up in a country where we were not afraid and always felt protected, allowing us to go out in the open air. We sleep with ease and are now capable enough to contribute to the growth of our nation. This is impossible without the brave soldiers who sacrifice their lives and endure the most adverse conditions so that we can grow and our nation can grow.”
Addressing the soldiers at the borders, she says, “A salute to the mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, and friends who stay strong and give the assurance to their family members to go to the border and protect the nation with courage and determination. A salute to the soldiers of our nation. We are proud to be Bharatiya. Salute to the land that gave birth to and nurtured such brave children.”
Anuj Arora on Kargil Diwas: Patriotism is one of the strongest aspects of who I am

Actor Anuj Arora, who has been part of shows like Bandini, Thodi Khushi Thode Gham, Behenein and web series Anarchy, says that patriotism has always been an emotion that he has deeply felt. He says that days such as Kargil Diwas need to be celebrated well. “Patriotism, I believe, is one of the strongest aspects of who I am. I have a deep, indescribable connection with this feeling and emotion. From my childhood, I’ve always felt a profound connection with the national anthem. It gives me goosebumps every time. Even now, whenever we sing the national anthem before our films, I absolutely love it. It gives me a unique feeling, a different high. Patriotism is incredibly special to me. I remember singing patriotic songs during my school days with great enthusiasm. Whenever we talk about our country’s soldiers or our defence forces, it feels very special, filled with gratitude and respect for them,” he says.
He adds, “Last year, I attended the Republic Day parade in Delhi, and it was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. Witnessing the power and excellence of our defence team and all the branches was deeply moving. I must have cried out of pride several times, seeing the machinery, power, and discipline of our forces. Thanks to them, we enjoy the freedom we do. It’s truly heartwarming to see them. I think this sentiment comes from my mother, who has always held great respect for the defence forces—military, air force, navy. I might have even chosen one of these fields if not for acting.”
He says that he is full of gratitude for soldiers. “So, this is really special to me. I extend my warmest regards and deepest gratitude to them for their sacrifices and for providing us with security. They are the best people in the country. I salute them with all my love and respect,” he says.
Sherleen Dutt on Kargil Diwas: We salute your courage, honour your service

Actress Sherleen Dutt, who has been a part of 'KINK' and 'Honey Trap Squad', says that Kargil Vijay Diwas is a very important day for our country. Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every 26 July in India, to observe India's victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War for ousting Pakistani Forces from the mountain tops of Northern Kargil District in Ladakh in 1999. “On this 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, we come together to honour the extraordinary bravery and sacrifices made by our soldiers during the Kargil War in 1999. This day stands as a testament to the indomitable spirit of our armed forces, who, against all odds, reclaimed our territories and upheld the sovereignty of our nation,” she says. She adds, “As someone from Jammu & Kashmir, I have grown up witnessing the dedication and resilience of our soldiers firsthand. Seeing them stationed nearby throughout my childhood, I have developed a profound respect and admiration for their unwavering commitment to protecting our land and people.”
She says that we need to celebrate these brave hearts. “To the courageous men and women currently serving our country, we owe you an immense debt of gratitude. Your unwavering dedication, resilience, and selfless service continue to inspire us every day. You stand as the first line of defense, often in the harshest and most challenging conditions, ensuring that our borders remain secure and our people safe,” she says.
She adds, “Your commitment to duty, even in the face of grave danger, is a beacon of hope and strength for all of us. As we remember the heroes of Kargil, we also celebrate you, our current defenders, whose relentless vigilance and bravery make it possible for us to live in peace and freedom. We are deeply aware of the sacrifices you and your families make, and we hold your contributions in the highest regard. On this significant day, we salute your courage, honour your service, and pledge our unwavering support and gratitude. Jai Hind!”
Being satisfied and fully present in the moment: Gunjan Saini on happiness

For actress-poet Gunjan Saini, who was part of the series Gutur Gu on Amazon Mini TV, happiness means finding joy in the moment. She said, “For me, happiness is fundamentally about being satisfied and fully present in the moment. It's about finding joy in the here and now, without the distractions of future worries or past regrets.” “For instance, when I sit down to enjoy a cup of coffee, I want to be completely immersed in that experience. I don't want my mind to wander to work commitments or other responsibilities. This simple act of enjoying coffee without distraction brings a sense of peace and contentment,” she added.
She also mentioned that peace and satisfaction are important for happiness. She said, “I am someone who experiences emotions intensely, whether they are small moments of happiness or minor frustrations. These small ups and downs are part of my daily life. If we are not satisfied with our lives, it's impossible to find true joy in anything we do. Dissatisfaction acts as a barrier to happiness, and overcoming this barrier is essential for a fulfilling life.”
But Gunjan stressed that it’s important to distinguish between success and happiness. She said, “Recently, one of my social media reels reached 200,000 views. While this moment of success was exciting, it also led me to immediately think about the next milestone. This reaction made me realize that tying happiness to success is fleeting and unsustainable.”
“True happiness should come from the journey itself, the day-to-day moments, rather than the peaks of success. When we focus on enjoying the journey, happiness stays with us longer,” she added. Can you share moments when you felt genuinely happy? “In my personal life, one of my happiest moments was when I shared with my parents about my partner, and they accepted him with open arms. This acceptance brought me immense joy and relief. Professionally, I find happiness and a sense of blessing whenever I am on stage. Performing on stage reminds me that I am living my dream as an artist. This reminder is a profound source of happiness for me, affirming my life's purpose and passion,” she said.
“Happiness is about cherishing these moments and understanding that it is not dependent on achieving success. It is about being satisfied with who we are and where we are at any given moment. This mindset allows us to live a more joyful and meaningful life,” Gunjan ended.
