Kharge rejigs Congress Working Committee

In a major reshuffle in the Congress Working Committee (CWC), party president Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday appointed leaders Shashi Tharoor and Sachin Pilot as members among 28 others, as part of the committee that will go on to make key decisions for the party.Anand Sharma and Shashi Tharoor have found places in CWC. Both were among the 23 senior Congress leaders who wrote to party chief Sonia Gandhi, flagging key issues plaguing the party and seeking their resolution. Sachin Pilot has been included in the 39-member panel. The list includes Congress leaders Naseer Hussain, Alka Lamba, Supriya Shrinate, Praniti Shinde, Pawan Kheda, Ganesh Godial, Yashomati Thakur. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has also been inducted in the CWC.

The composition of the new panel flies in the face of the Congress's plan to promote young leaders.
