Kerala PSC rank holders stage massive protest for appointment letters

In Keralam, Hundreds of candidates who have passed the exams and are yet to receive their appointments to public service roles have been protesting for close to a month now. On Thursday, a massive protest march was organized to the Secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram under the leadership of BJP Yuva Morcha, demanding justice for candidates who have not received appointment orders for the past two years despite being included in the PSC rank list. Hundreds of activists took to the streets in protest against the government’s policy of delaying appointments despite the existence of rank lists, including those for teaching posts.​The march turned violent after the police blocked the protesters with barricades as they attempted to storm the Secretariat building. The police used water cannons to disperse the protestors.

Keralam has been seeing almost a month of protests related to corruption and inefficiencies in the Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) examinations.According to media reports,  protestors demand the resignation of the KPSC chairman and for a fairer, more efficient examination and evaluation process. They have also expressed dissatisfaction at leaders of the state showing their support for the NEET protests in New Delhi, but seemingly ignoring the PSC protests in Kerala.Despite being included in rank lists, certain candidates, such as those who sat for the primary teacher exams, have not received their appointments. Protestors have also said that the number of job vacancies have been reported inaccurately, leaving many rank-holders with no job appointments
