After the Mandya violence, the Karnataka government on Friday shifted the Intelligence chief. K.V. Sharath Chandra, IPS (KN-1997), currently serving as Additional Director General of Police, Intelligence, has been transferred and posted as Additional Director General of Police, Recruitment. This move relieves Umesh Kumar, IPS, of the concurrent charge. Additionally, K.V. Sharath Chandra will now also oversee the role of ADG & Commissioner, Traffic and Road Safety, taking over from Alok Kumar, IPS.
Hemant M. Nimbalkar,serving as Additional Director General of Police & Commissioner, Department of Information and Public Relations, has been posted ADG, Intelligence, Nimbalkar will concurrently retain his previous role as Commissioner of Information and Public Relations. He is a 1998 batch IPS officer.
