In Karnataka, Tuesday was a day of dharna,protest and a march to Lok Bhawan against VB-G-RAM-G Act. Protests broke out inside the Assembly after the Bharatiyta Janata Party accused the ruling Congress of involvement in a Rs 6,000 crore excise scam. The BJP also demanded the suspension of some Congress lawmakers for 'insulting and disrespecting' Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot amid the ruckus last week over the latter's speech to a joint sitting of the legislature.The opposition BJP and JD(S) legislators staged a dharna in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue on the Vidhana Soudha premises in Bengaluru seeking the resignation of Excise Minister R.B. Thimmapur over alleged corruption and action against Congress legislators who allegedly misbehaved with the Governor of Karnataka during the joint session of the legislature.
Leader of Opposition in the Assembly R. Ashok termed the Congress government in Karnataka as a ‘goonda dispensation’, which he claimed was proved by the behaviour of Congress legislators during the address of the Governor to the joint session of the legislature. The BJP's state unit chief, BY Vijayendra, told reporters, "… Rs 6,000-crore scam wherein the excise minister and his family members are involved, and proof has emerged. But Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is not willing to discuss this in the House." The BJP withdraw the protest after the Speaker siad time will be given to discuss this in the House.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister Shri D.K. Shivakumar, AICC General Secretary Shri Randeep Singh Surjewala submitted a memorandum to Governor, Thawarchand Gehlot related to mthe Mahatma Gandhi NREGA Save Movement, to protect a vital lifeline that ensures rural employment, strengthens the grassroots economy, and upholds social equity.

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar lead the Congress delegation to the Lok Bhavan in buses for 'Lok Bhavan chalo' protest against the VB G RAM G bill. "We have decided that all gram panchayats in Karnataka will be named after Mahatma Gandhi," he said.
