Congress party in Karnataka busy in finalising names of its party leaders for nominations to the Legislative Council. While Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was busy in preperation s of his record breaking budjet, Deputy Chief Minister and KPCC President DK Shivakumar was busy in finalising list for three nominations to the Council. There are many contenders for these nominations from with in Congress partty as well as outside sympathisers of the party to get in to the upper house without spending any money or investment. These nominations are mainly meant to bringin people of eminence from different socio-cultural feild. But off late polical parties are easily manipulating to send their own people as rehabilation. This time also it is going to happen and politicians or ruling party influential leaders will make their way easily to this covoted seat. Forget about elders in different sectors who don't have affiliation with ruling Congres. After all it is elders house filled with youngsters against the rules meant for nominations.
Shivakumar wanted to bring in Sudham Das, who was co-chairman of publicity committee of Congress party during assembly elections. He was a senior officer in Enforcement Directorate. Siddaramaiah made him as an information commissioner in his previous term. After his retirement he joined Congress party. Ha has all the support of SiddaKumar government. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar both eager to get him to the Council. He being Scheduled caste (left) leader, brought many of his caste leaders into the party. That's why both CM and DCM are in his favour. Many inside party leaders of the same caste are opposing his nomination because of his recent entry into the party. They are apprehensive as this importance to new generation will stall the growth of older generation.
The other two names making round for this nominations are that of former MLA MR Sitaram of Malleshwara and also chairman of MS Ramaiah educational institution and Mansoor Ali Khan son of former Rajya Sabha Deputy Chaiman Rehman Khan. Almost these three names have been finalised by the Congress high command. Thus blocking the chances of film actress Uma shree, writers like Baraguru Ramachandrappa, K Marulasiddappa, SG Siddaramaiah, has film actor Mukhyamantri Chandru among others.
