In Rajasthan, the police have recovered unclaimed cash amounting to Rs 2.31 crore and 1 kg gold bar at Yojana Bhawan, a government building. Around 7-8 people from the department have been detained for questioning. Police have seized the cash and gold under section 102 CrPC. An investigation is on. In a late night press conference on Fiday, Jaipur Police Commissioner Anand Srivastava said the Additional Director of the IT Department informed the police that they had found cash and a gold bar in their basement. He said that no one has claimed the money or gold.

The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has targeted the Congress government over the issue. Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rajendra Rathore said in a Tweet, "The recovery of crores of rupees in cash and gold from the Rajasthan secretariat, where Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot sits and runs the government, is proof that the Gehlot government is in the role of a protector of corruption."
