Israel has said that it has killed two Iranian security chief officials. Top Ali Larijani was killed in an airstrike in Iran last night, Defense Minister Israel Katz says. The IDF said that a separate strike killed Basij paramilitary force commander Gholamreza Soleimani. “Larijani and the Basij commander were eliminated overnight and joined the head of the annihilation program, Khamenei, and all the eliminated members of the axis of evil, in the depths of hell,” Katz says during an assessment this morning, according to his office.Larijani served as secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. There was no immediate confirmation from Iran.
Iran’s nationwide internet blackout entered its 18th day on Tuesday, with public access to the global internet still largely cut off, according to NetBlocks. The monitoring group said the disruption had passed 408 hours, leaving most users without international connectivity while a small number of approved users retained limited access. "Chosen users are granted privileged access, while the remainder are left with a limited domestic intranet under increasingly tight control," NetBlocks said.
Explosions were reported in multiple cities across Iran early on Tuesday, including Tehran, Karaj, Shiraz and Abadan, according to witness accounts sent to Iran International. Several blasts were heard around 05:15 local time in Karaj, while an explosion was reported earlier at 05:00 in Hashtgerd, west of Tehran.
