IPL: MI beat Sunrisers Hyderabad, RCB defeat DC

In IPL Cricket 0 Friday, Mumbai Indians beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 42 runs in a high-scoring match, but failed to qualify for the play-offs at Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Opting to bat first, Mumbai scored their highest ever total 235 runs for nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs riding on Ishan Kishan's 84 off 32 balls and Suryakumar Yadav's 82 off 40 balls. Kishan smashed the fastest fifty of the onging IPL. For Hyderabad, Jason Holder picked up four wickets while Rashid Khan Abhishek Sharma scalped two wickets each. In reply, Hyderabad could only score 193 runs for eight with the help of Manish Pandey's not out 69 off 41 and Jason Roy's 34 off 21 balls. For Mumbai, Jasprit Bumrah, Nathan Coulter-Nile and James Neesham took two wickets each.

In another match, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Delhi Capitals by seven wickets in a last-ball thriller at Dubai. Put into bat first, Delhi Capitals posted a total of 164 for five wickets with the help of Prithvi Shaw's 48 off 31 and Shikhar Dhawan's 43 off 35 balls. For Bangalore, Mohammed Siraj took two wickets.
In reply, Royal Challengers Bangalore chased down the target for the loss of three wickets with help of Srikar Bharat and Glenn Maxwell unbeaten knocks of 78 and 51 respectively. On the last ball, Bangalore needed five runs, and Srikar Bharat hit the six. For Delhi, Anrich Nortje took two wickets.
With this, Delhi Capitals finished at the top spot in the points table and now the side will square off against Chennai Super Kings in Qualifier 1 on Sunday. On the other hand, RCB finished at the third spot and Virat Kohli's team will face Kolkata Knight Riders in the Eliminator on Monday.
