Indian Navy’s sail training ship INS Sudarshini arrived in Lisbon, Portugal, on August 22 as part of its ongoing Lokayan 26 transoceanic expedition, further strengthening India’s maritime engagement with partner nations.
According to agency reports,the three-masted barque entered Lisbon through the Tagus River, offering a striking display of traditional sailing and seamanship skills. The visit forms part of the ship’s extended voyage aimed at fostering maritime cooperation and strengthening ties with countries along its route.During its port call, the ship’s crew and trainees are scheduled to participate in professional exchanges, cross-deck visits and cultural engagements with Portuguese naval leadership, local authorities and members of the Indian diaspora.
