India’s GDP crosses $ 4 trillion mark for the first time

India's gross domestic product (GDP) has crossed the $ 4 trillion-mark in nominal terms, making it the fourth largest globally, several media reports said on November 19, citing a purported screenshot of a live GDP tracker of all economies based on the International Monetary Fund (IMF) data. BJP leaders and ministers claimed on Sunday praising PM Modi's leadership. This is a significant step towards India's $5 trillion economy goal. Union minister of state Arjun Ram Meghwal said in his X post.

The screengrab from GDP live tracking of countries based on the International Monetary Fund was shared on social media platforms. According to the viral screengrab, India left UK behind as its GDP crossed $4 trillion only to be preceded by US, China, Japan and Germany. India was followed by the UK, France, Italy, Canada and Russia in the top 10. Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani congratulates India on achieving this milestone. "another two years to go before India becomes the 3rd largest nation in terms of Global GDP by overtaking Japan at $4.4 trillion and Germany at $4.3 trillion.

“India, having achieved a monumental GDP milestone of over USD 4 trillion, stands tall as a beacon of economic prowess and global influence. The nation's remarkable trajectory of growth and development has not only elevated living standards but has also paved the way for a substantial reduction in poverty," said Vivek Rathi, National Director Research, Knight Frank India.
