India to soon export semiconductors, says Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said India has made a strong, though slightly delayed, entry into the semiconductor industry and is poised to soon achieve self-reliance and begin exports in the sector.Addressing the Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh Growth Summit in Gwalior, Shah said the country’s efforts in semiconductors are gaining momentum. “We have made a strong entry into the semiconductor industry, although a bit late. In a short time, India will not only become self-reliant in this sector but will also start exporting semiconductors,” he said.Highlighting Madhya Pradesh’s investment potential, the Union minister said the state’s strategic location and fertile land make it highly attractive for investors, adding that even small investments can yield substantial returns.
On the occasion of the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for industrial projects worth ₹2 lakh crore. He described Vajpayee as a towering statesman, remembering him as a great orator, a sensitive poet and a leader devoted to public welfare, who remained an “ajatashatru” in politics.Shah also paid tributes to Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya on his birth anniversary and to C. Rajagopalachari on his death anniversary.Referring to the state’s development, Shah said Madhya Pradesh, once considered backward in terms of power availability, has now emerged as a surplus electricity state. He added that the state has also set benchmarks in cleanliness, outperforming others across the country.
During the event, the Home Minister inaugurated the Gwalior Fair and dedicated to the public the renovation works at the Atal Museum.

According to officials, around 25,000 beneficiaries, along with thousands of entrepreneurs and investors, are participating in the Growth Summit, which is being held to mark Vajpayee’s birth anniversary. The industrial projects announced are expected to generate nearly 1.93 lakh employment opportunities.
