India to send one more relief material to Earthquake hit Turkey

India to send one more C-17 planeloads of relief material, equipment & personnel to the earthquake-hit Turkiye under Operation Dost. Secretary West Sanjay Verma said that this was the biggest natural disaster to hit Turkiye since 1939 and the government of India received an email from the Turkish side for assistance in this regard. Talking about Indian citizens in Turkiye,  Verma informed that a total of 3 thousand Indian nationals are there. He informed that 10 Indians are stuck in remote parts of affected areas of Turkiye but are safe. He added that however, one Indian, who was on a business visit in Turkiye, is missing and the External Affairs Ministry is in touch with his family and the company in Bengaluru which employed him. He also informed that a control room has been set up in Adana of Turkiye. India has set up a hospital in an affected area.

Additionally, India has sent relief materials to Turkey, including medical supplies, a mobile hospital and specialised search and rescue teams. The aid was sent in two C-17 Globemaster military transport aircraft to help the country in the wake of the series of devastating earthquakes that rocked the nation.
