India on Wednesday clean swept West Indies in the three-match at the Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain. Chasing a target of 257, West Indies were bowled out for 137. Earlier, West Indies were set a revised target of 257 in 35 overs against India. Earlier, India were 225 for three in 36 overs before rain stopped play for the second time in the match. Shubman Gill was batting unbeaten on 98 while Sanju Samson had joined him in the middle after India lost quick wickets. India were 115 for one in 24 overs before rain interrupted the proceedings. Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill had hit fifties to take India past the 100-run mark. However, Hayden Walsh Jr ended the partnership, dismissing Dhawan on 58. Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bat. The visitors make one change as Prasidh Krishna replaces Avesh Khan. Having already taken an un assailable 2-0 in the three-match series, India will be facing West Indies in the third and final ODI at the Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad.
The hosts started the run chase on a shaky note as Mohammed Siraj inflicted double blow in his first over. The pacer packed Kyle Mayers and Shamarh Brooks before they could open their account. After their dismissal, Shai Hope and Brandon King added 47 runs for the third wicket before Hope was out stumped against Yuzvendra Chahal on 22(33). Spinners Yuzvendra Chahal (4/17 in 4 overs), Axar Patel (1/38 in 6 overs) and seamer Shardul Thakur (2/17 in 5 overs) also performed their role admirably on a slowish surface as Brandon King (42 off 37 balls) and Nicholas Pooran (42 off 32 balls)'s counter-attacking resistance was never going to be good enough.
