India’s first telecom manufacturing zone to be set up in Gwalior

India’s first Telecom Manufacturing Zone (TMZ), Phase-I will be set up in Gwalior. The Madhya Pradesh government and the Department of Telecommunications on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in New Delhi in this regard.  Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister of Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia said that the signing of the agreement is a dawn of a new chapter under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He highlighted that the initiative reflects the Prime Minister’s vision of Make in India, Make for the World. He said that by anchoring this paradigm in quality, trust, and innovation, India is confidently presenting its technological strength to the world. 
Speaking at the event, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that that the initiative marks a major leap forward in transforming the state into a core hub for cutting-edge technology design, production, and global exports. Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is steadily emerging as an industrial powerhouse, expanding beyond its traditional strengths. He added that the state is advancing into manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and strategic infrastructure.
The initiative seeks to create a world-class manufacturing ecosystem for telecom equipment and allied technologies. The MoU will boost homegrown telecom manufacturing, attract investments, create jobs and strengthen India’s journey towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat. It will also generate substantial employment opportunities, enhance regional industrial development, strengthen supply chain resilience, and position India as a global hub for telecom manufacturing and innovation.
