West Bengal BJP has alleged that the INDI Alliance has always wanted people to infiltrate from across the borders, obtain Aadhaar cards and ration cards, and become chunk voters for the alliance. According to the party Spokesperson Bharati Ghosh, now that the Election Commission has taken a stand against this and is moving forward with document verification, it has become a major source of concern for the INDI Alliance. 'This is why Rahul Gandhi and Mamata Banerjee, two leaders who rarely agree on major issues, have joined hands on this matter,' she alleged.

Ms Ghosh says, "The powers of the Election Commission are discretionary and wide, and no one can challenge them directly. If someone wants to challenge the authority of the Election Commission, they can approach the Supreme Court or the High Court and seek judicial review of its decision."
