'Hemant Soren unfit for office', J'khand students seek CM's resignation

In Jahrkhand, students protesting in Ranchi over the irregularities in the government-job recruitment process have grown livid over the state dispensation's inability to address the issue swiftly and efficiently. One of the several students on hunger strike lashed out at chief minister Hemant Soren for not visiting the protest site and called the JMM supremo "unfit to hold" the hightest office in the state, demanding his resignation. The students have also stated that their plan for a gherao of the state assembly will proceed as scheduled on August 10. Students have been on a hunger strike for three days, with many stating their health has started to deteriorate.

Chief Minister Soren met with governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar to brief him about the ongoing row regarding the JPSC recruitment process. “The governor termed the alleged irregularities a matter of grave concern. He stated that the commissions should function in a manner that leaves no room for doubt regarding their transparency and credibility,” said a statement issued by the Lok Bhavan.
