Following a major reshuffle-cum-expansion of his cabinet, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Friday allotted the important portfolios of Home and Industries to Harsh Sanghavi who has been elevated as Deputy CM. Sanghvi was also given Transport, Sports and Youth Affairs and Civil Aviation departments, an official release said in the evening.Rivaba Jadeja, was named as Primary, Secondary and Adult Education. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel holds the portfolios of General Administration, Administrative Reforms and Training, Planning, Non-Resident Gujaratis’ Division, Revenue and Disaster Management, and Roads, Buildings, and Capital.Kanubhai Patel retained Finance.

Earlier in the day, Bhupendra Patel inducted 19 fresh faces in his council of ministers and retained six from his previous team. The first meeting of the newly constituted cabinet was held in Gandhinagar on Friday. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi said the meeting focused on guiding all ministers on how to undertake more public welfare initiatives in the interest of the people.
