Inspired by the scenic charm of Nakki Lake, the project aims to blend spirituality with leisure tourism. Once completed, devotees visiting Ambaji will have access to boating facilities, tranquil lake views, and a rejuvenating natural setting—encouraging longer stays in the region.Located around 3 km from Ambaji, the Rinchhadiya Mahadev Temple complex, nestled amid picturesque hills, is undergoing a major transformation. The development plan includes the construction of a large artificial lake, modern boating infrastructure, and well-designed walking tracks, positioning the site as a key tourist attraction.
Officials said the project will also feature landscaped gardens, musical fountains, and an amphitheatre for cultural events. Supporting infrastructure such as two new bridges, an arrival plaza, a dedicated food zone, visitor information kiosks, and a modern visitor centre are also part of the plan. The broader objective is to encourage pilgrims to extend their visits, combining religious devotion with recreational experiences. Parallel development works are underway at key locations including the Shakti Corridor and Koteshwar Mahadev Temple, further strengthening the region’s tourism ecosystem.Set against a backdrop of lush hills and natural beauty, the initiative is expected to significantly boost tourist footfall in the region. Authorities also anticipate that the project will generate employment opportunities for local communities, providing a strong push to the rural economy. The Ambaji Temple, located in Banaskantha district, is one of the 51 revered Shakti Peethas and holds deep religious significance. It is believed to be the site where Goddess Sati’s heart fell. Situated near Gabbar Hill, the temple is unique for not having a traditional idol, instead housing the sacred Vishwa Yantra as a representation of the Devi.
