'Great news', says Trump after Greene announced her resignation

Greene proposed the bill just two days after Trump defended the H-1B visa programme, whose majority of beneficiaries are Indians, saying the US needed to bring in talent from abroad to address a shortage of domestic workers for available jobs. Many political experts suggest that by introducing the bill, she tried to define "America First" without Trump.
Reports suggested that Trump was already frustrated with Greene's persistent demands to release the Epstein files, but it was her bill targeting the H-1B visa programme that prompted him to publicly criticise her. Last Saturday, Greene called Trump's foreign policies "not America first positions" and said his recent attacks against her can "put my life in danger," NPR reported. Greene was the first Republican lawmaker, for example, to say that there is a genocide in Gaza and has been one of the loudest voices demanding that the Epstein files be released, The Guardian reported. Greene has actively campaigned for their release and voiced strong support for the Epstein survivors.
