GIFT City partners with Vietnamese financial firm to foster investment

Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), India's International Financial Services Centre (IFSC),on Tuesday has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Vietnam International Financial Center–Da Nang (VIFC-DN) to strengthen cooperation in financial services, fintech and cross-border investment. The partnership aims to facilitate the exchange of institutional knowledge and best practices as Vietnam develops its international financial centre, while creating new opportunities for investment and business collaboration between the two countries.
According to officials, the MoU will enable it to share insights from building India's only IFSC from the ground up, helping support the development of the newly established financial hub in Da Nang. The collaboration will focus on financial services, fintech and digital innovation, capacity building, financial sector development, and exploring opportunities for cross-border investments and stronger business linkages between India and Vietnam. The two institutions will also undertake joint research and publications, organise professional exchanges, conferences and seminars, and maintain institutional engagement on areas of mutual interest.
Sanjay Kaul, Managing Director and Group CEO of GIFT City, said international collaboration is essential for building globally competitive financial centres. He added that the partnership would open new avenues in financial services, fintech and investment while strengthening financial and business ties between India and Vietnam. The latest agreement follows two strategic MoUs recently signed by GIFT City to expand its ecosystem. One agreement with Tata Communications aims to position GIFT City as a preferred destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), treasury centres and technology enterprises, while another with CEPT University focuses on research, executive education, sustainability, urban planning and capacity building.GIFT City currently hosts more than 1,500 entities and manages banking assets worth $111 billion as of March 2026, reinforcing its position as India's premier international financial hub.
