Defending champions France put on an attacking masterclass in their FIFA World Cup opener on Tuesday. Playing at the Al Janoub Stadium, France ran riot against Australia in their group stage game to seal a 4-1 win in the Group D encounter. Worse, in the build-up to the play, France's left-back Lucas Hernandez twisted his knee and had to be carried off the pitch. As the Australian attack came in waves, France were forced to weather the storm, keeping themselves tight at the heart of their defence.
