FIR against Lalu Prasad lodged by BJP MLA in call from jail case

Political temperature has increased in Bihar and Jharkhand over Lalu Yadav's reported call to a BJP MLA in Bihar. According to information BJP MLA Lalan Paswan on Thursday lodged an FIR in Patna against RJD president Lalu Prasad under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Lalan Paswan accused Lalu Prasad of offering him a bribe for switching political loyalty. He alleged that Lalu Prasad made telephone calls while being in custody and offered a ministerial berth.

 Former Bihar chief minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha president Jitan Ram Manjhi too has alleged that he was contacted by RJD supremo Lalu Prasad from jail to topple Nitish Kumar government. Manjhi said he received a phone call on Tuesday night where the caller claimed that Lalu Prasad wanted to speak to him but he denied to speak to him. "Lalu is doing politics sitting inside jail in Ranchi. This is a wrong precedence which is being set. I demand an enquiry into this. Lalu had contacted my party legislators also and lured them with ministerial berths after elections", said Manjhi.

The fourth NDA partner in Bihar, the Vikashsheel Insan Party (VIP) of state minister Mukesh Sahani also claimed that Lalu Prasad approached the party seeking support for the Mahagathbandhan. Mukesh Sahani said Lalu Prasad telephoned him too for toppling the Nitish Kumar government. Meanwhile, the JDU has said that Jharkhand prison IG Brijesh Bhushan in August this submitted a report red-flagging violation of jail manual by Lalu Prasad. The IG reportedly indicted the security personnel deployed in the security detail of Lalu Prasad were allowing visitors to meet the RJD leader in unauthorised manner.JDU MLC and former minister Neeraj Kumar said that  Lalu Prasad is a habitual offender, and my demand is that he should be immediate shifted to Hotwar jail and from there to the Tihar Jail in Delhi,

Lalu Prasad has now been shifted again to the RIMS hospital’s private ward. The decision to shift him from the Kelly bungalow to the paid ward of the RIMS came in the backdrop of the hue and cry over alleged violation of the jail manual. The RJD of Lalu Prasad is part of the ruling alliance headed by Chief Minister Hemant Soren in Jharkhand.
