The reported hush mony payment to porn star Stormy Daniels has landed former US president Donald Trump in a soup and he is the first presedint who will be charged with a crime over allegations he covered up hush money payments to ex-porn actress Stormy Daniels. Ms Daniels claims she and Mr Trump had sex, and that she accepted $130,000 (£100,000) from his former lawyer before the 2016 election in exchange for her silence on the encounter. The lawyer, Michael Cohen, was later jailed on multiple charges.
Ms Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, has said in media interviews that she met Trump at a charity golf tournament in July 2006.Most of the details of this encounter were revealed by Ms Daniels in her tell-all book "Full Disclosure". She alleged the pair had sex once in his hotel room at Lake Tahoe, a resort area between California and Nevada. Daniels claims that one of Trump's bodyguards had asked her to visit his penthouse at the golf course. Describing the encounter, she wrote that "it may have been the least impressive sex I'd ever had". In her book, she also includes an unflattering description of Trump's anatomy. "He didn't seem worried about it. He was kind of arrogant," she said. Ms Daniels said she was legally and physically threatened to stay silent.
A picture taken at the time shows Trump and Stormy posing together at a porn studio booth. Ms Daniels was then working as a "greeter" at this studio. Ms Daniels was 27 at the time and Trump 60. In the photo, Trump is wearing a red hat, yellow polo shirt, and khaki pants. Ms Daniels, wearing a tight-fitting black top, is standing next to him. Four months before the meeting with Ms Daniels, Donald Trump's wife, Melania, had given birth to their son Barron. In 2016, days before the US presidential election, Ms Daniels said Trump's lawyer Michael Cohen paid her $130,000 in "hush money" to keep her quiet about the affair. She said she took it because she was concerned for the safety of her family. Cohen, who has since turned against Trump, has acknowledged arranging a $130,000 "hush money" payment to Ms Daniels in exchange for her silence about the 2006 tryst.
Once the transaction was revealed in 2018, Daniels asked the courts to nullify her nondisclosure agreement with Trump and began making the rounds on television shows. On CBS’s 60 Minutes, she said she wanted to set the record straight: “I’m not a victim,” she stated flatly. And even if she was not attracted to him that night in Lake Tahoe, she said their relationship was consensual and added that she saw the relationship as a potential career boost.
Stormy Daniels, her stage name – was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and raised by her mother following her parents’ divorce. She was neglected by her family and sexually abused at age nine by an older man, she wrote in a 2018 memoir. Despite everything, she was a good student and passionate about horses. To earn a living, she first turned to striptease, then the adult film industry, where she became a star actress, director and screenwriter, earning several awards. Daniels, who gave serious consideration to running for a US Senate seat for Louisiana in 2010, has a daughter, and last year married her fourth husband, fellow porn actor Barrett Blade.“I have so many messages coming in that I can’t respond … also don’t want to spill my champagne.”

While she sipped champagne, her attorneys took a more sober stance. “The indictment of Donald Trump is no cause for joy,” they said in a statement.“The hard work and conscientiousness of the grand jurors must be respected. Now let truth and justice prevail.”
