A Delhi youth was arrested on Tuesday morning for allegedly sending death threats to Bollywood actor Salman Khan and Zeeshan Siddique, son of NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was shot dead earlier this month in Mumbai. As per IANS report, Mohammad Tayyab, a 24-year-old resident of Delhi, was arrested by the Bandra police in the Noida Sector 39 after making a threatening call to Zeeshan Siddique and Salman Khan. The call originated from Noida, and authorities believe it was made as a prank. Tayyab has been brought to Mumbai for further legal proceedings.The accused has been handed over to the Nirmal Nagar Police in Mumbai and is being questioned to get his intention behind sending the text message.
Zeeshan Siddique recently joined the National Congress Party (NCP) led by Ajit Pawar on Friday ahead of the Maharashtra assembly polls, scheduled on November 20. He was expelled by the Congress in August.He was fielded against Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Varun Sirdesai, cousin of Aaditya Thackeray, soon after his induction into the NCP for the forthcoming state assembly polls. Earlier, Mumbai Police had arrested Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin, a 24-year-old vegetable seller from Jamshedpur, over a threat message received by Mumbai traffic police's WhatsApp helpline. A threat message demanding Rs 5 crore from the actor was received on the Mumbai Traffic Police's WhatsApp helpline, prompting the police to register a case and launch an investigation. So far, nine persons arrested in the Baba Siddiqui murder case.
