Asserting that the country is seeking a change, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday said the 'guarantees' touted by the present government would meet the same fate as the 'India Shining' slogan of 2004. Addressing the meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), the party's top decision-making body, to discuss and approve the party's manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections in New Delhi, he urged all party leaders and workers to take every issue raised in the party manifesto to every village and town and to every household across the country.

Later, at a media breifing K C Venugopal, General Secretary, said that the Committee had a detailed discussion on the manifesto for the upcoming 2024 General Elections. The meeting, chaired by Congress President kharge,was attended by CPP Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, among others.The CWC has authorised Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge to grant final approval for the manifesto. A decision on the date of its release will be made soon. Building on the momentum of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, during which we announced the 5 Guarantees, the CWC has prepared a plan to circulate this message of Guarantees to the grassroots level.
