Congress highlights Modi govt's failures in 'black paper'

The Congress on Thursday released a "black paper" to highlight the "failures" of the Modi government, flagging issues such as unemployment, price rise and "farmers' distress".The release of the ‘black paper’ titled ‘10 Saal Anyay Kaal’ by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge comes ahead of the government’s tabling in Parliament of a ‘white paper’ on the “mismanagement” of the economy prior to 2014 with an aim to draw lessons. The 'black paper' highlights issues such as "unemployment, price rise, farmers' distress, failure to carry out a caste census and injustice to women”.
Addressing a press briefing, Congress party chief Mallikarjun Kharge said the "Black Paper" highlights "failures" of government on unemployment, price rise, farmers' distress."We are raising the main issue of unemployment, which the never talks about. There is discrimination being done with non-BJP states like Kerala, Karnataka,Telangana...," Kharge said."Centre does not disburse required funds to the non-BJP states and instead argues that allocated funds were not spent. But this is not how it works...the additional funds must be allocated immediately as it gets utilized (by the state) to ensure smooth flow of work," Kharge said.
Kharge accused the BJP of "misusing" the electoral bond to finance its election campaigns."They harass industries by sending ED and CBI notices to funds their election campaigns through electoral bonds", alleged Kharge. He said these funds are being used to "destroy" democracy, adding that 411 MLAs have joined the BJP in the past ten years. "Why they (BJP) did not get such amount ten years back if donations are inspired by ideology?" Kharge asked.
