Cong, JMM, AAP facing protest against alleged exam irregularities

Congress,JMM and AAP ruled states are also facing agitation against paper leak, but for political reasons these parties are opposing the BJP led Modi government for paper leaks and rotten education system. These parties are not ready to accept loopholes in their state PSCs. Keralam, Karnataka and Jharkhand are facing students protest over alleged corruption in the recently conducted State PSC examinations.
In Keralam, hundreds of candidates who have passed the exams and are yet to receive their appointments to public service roles have been protesting for close to a month now. Successful candidates have not received appointment orders for the past two years despite being included in the PSC rank list. In Jharkhand, students are protesting in Ranchi over the irregularities in the government-job recruitment process, conducted by the Jharkhand PSC and JSSC.The Jharkhand government on Saturday held talks with various outfits amid the massive agitation over the alleged paper leaks in recruitment exams, but failed to break the deadlock as the protesting aspirants decided that their stir would continue until all their demands are met.
A five-member panel of the government, which included state ministers, first met the faction of protesters led by JLKM leader Devendra Nath Mahto, whose fast over the issue entered its seventh day. They then met delegations of the Congress-backed NSUI, ACS and JCM. On Friday night, the government had held similar talks with a 10-member delegation of the JPSC/JSSC Reforms Manch. "Demands of protesting aspirants are genuine; we will place these before Chief Minister Hemant Soren," state minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav, who is a member of the panel set up by the government, said after the back-to-back meetings.
In Karnataka, following allegations of malpractices in selection of veterinary officers, the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) has temporarily put on hold the selection list and formed an internal sub-committee to probe into the allegations. Recently, candidates staged a protest at Freedom Park, Bengaluru, alleging irregularities in the Veterinary Officer recruitment process. The protesters demanded that the alleged recruitment scam probe be handed over to the CBI. Among three states, two are being run by the Congress party while the party is a coalition partner in Jharkhand.
In Punjab, the Mann government is facing mounting protests from multiple quarters, with employee unions, contractual workers, unemployed youth and pension seekers stepping up agitations over wages, recruitment, job security and unfulfilled promises. Scores of students from across the state are protesting against the persistent paper leaks and the Punjab pharmacy examination controversy. However, the Punjab government has maintained that the incident was not a paper leak but a case of organised high-tech cheating. In Punjab, the govt is headed by AAP.
