The security arrangements in Delhi have been stepped up in view of the CJP's Saturday, October 10 protest at Jantar Mantar. Additional 26,000 personnel of the of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) are being deployed in Delhi to work alongside the Delhi Police. The Delhi Police have already restricted entry to Jantar Mantar. Delhi Police has denied permission for the proposed protest by the CJP at Jantar Mantar Saturday. Addressing the media in New Delhi on Friday, Delhi Police Joint Commissioner Nupur Prasad said that applications seeking permission to hold protests or other programmes at Jantar Mantar must be submitted at least 10 days in advance. She noted that the CJP had previously been granted permission to hold a protest at the venue but failed to comply with the prescribed guidelines and the undertakings given by the party. Joint Commissioner said the decision to deny permission was taken in view of the party’s previous failure to adhere to Delhi Police guidelines and its own undertakings, as well as the prevailing law-and-order situation, public safety and traffic regulations in the New Delhi area. She further stated that prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita are currently in force in the area, imposing necessary restrictions to maintain public safety and law and order. She warned that the Delhi Police would take appropriate legal action against anyone found violating the law.

As per the application, an intimation was given regarding a protest to be held at Jantar Mantar on October 10 concerning the accountability of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC). Upon processing this intimation, it was found that the notice was received at very short notice. Under current guidelines, an application to organise an event at Jantar Mantar must be submitted at least 10 days prior to the scheduled date. It is also important to note that, based on the past conduct of the CJP on a separate occasion, undertakings and lawful directions given previously were not followed. In light of the non-compliance with prescribed procedures, the failure to adhere to past legal directions, and the current state of public safety, law and order, and traffic regulation, permission for the proposed protest at Jantar Mantar is hereby denied." As per information, all Mail and Express trains departing from their source stations after 2 PM today(Fruday) and scheduled to arrive at New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations between 4 AM and 2 PM on Saturday will be cancelled at source. The Railways Ministry said that this decision has been taken in view of the anticipated severe road traffic congestion in areas around both the railway stations on Saturday.
Meanwhile, entry and exit at 57 Delhi metro stations will remain closed from tonight at 9 and will continue on October 10 until further notice in view of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)'s anti-CEC protest, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said on Friday.
Service Update Due to security reasons, the entry and exit at the following metro stations will remain closed from 09:00 PM on 9th October, 2026 and continuing on 10th October, 2026 till further notice. However, interchange facility will remain available at all the concerned metro stations except New Delhi metro station.

Media persons have also been advised to maintain a safe distance from protesters and security personnel while covering the protests. The Delhi Police says the measures are necessary to maintain law and order.
