Chhattisgarh has rolled out an ambitious tourism initiative aimed at making travel more accessible and encouraging wider participation in cultural, spiritual, and eco-tourism across the state. The Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, in partnership with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), has introduced new tour packages under the Mukhyamantri Jan Paryatan Protsahan Yojana, providing subsidised travel for groups and families.
Four Curated Tour Packages Introduced:
The scheme features four specially curated tour packages starting from Raipur, designed to suit varied interests:
•Raipur City Tour (Day Excursion):Visitors will be able to explore key attractions such as Ram Temple, Urja Park, Purkhouti Muktangan, Chhattisgarh Tribal Museum, Nandanvan Zoo, and the Kaushalya Mata Temple. The tour includes AC transport, Hindi/English-speaking guides, meals, and travel insurance.
•Raipur City Religious Tour (Day Excursion):Focusing on prominent spiritual sites, this package covers Hanuman Temple, Maa Banjari Temple, Kaivalya Dham Jain Temple, ISKCON Temple, Mahamaya Temple, Danteshwari Mata Temple, Ram Temple, and the Kaushalya Mata Temple.
•Raipur–Jagdalpur Circuit (2 Nights/3 Days):Showcasing the natural splendour of Bastar, travellers will visit Chitrakote and Tirathgarh along with attractions such as Chitrakote Waterfalls, Kutumsar Caves, Kanger Valley National Park, and Danteshwari Temple. Accommodation in double-sharing rooms and meals are included.
•Raipur–Sirpur–Barnawapara Circuit (1 Night/2 Days):This route offers a blend of heritage and wildlife. Tourists will visit the ancient temples of Sirpur and embark on a jungle safari in the Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary.
Subsidy and Eligibility
The scheme offers significant financial support to travellers:
•85% subsidy for children aged 2–18
•75% subsidy for adults above 18
•Minimum group size: 10 participants
•All packages include drinking water, snacks, lunch, and comprehensive travel insurance
•Tours begin and conclude at Raipur Railway Station
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said the initiative aims to democratise tourism and strengthen Chhattisgarh’s presence on national and international tourism platforms. He emphasised that the scheme will highlight the state’s cultural, religious, and ecological richness while driving economic development.Tourism Minister Rajesh Agrawal noted that the programme is expected to generate substantial employment and create wider opportunities in the tourism and hospitality sectors. He added that the partnership with IRCTC will help deliver high-quality services to visitors.Officials said the new packages are expected to stimulate local tourism and promote sustainable travel practices. By offering curated experiences and substantial subsidies, the state aims to increase tourist footfall, support local businesses, and preserve its cultural and natural heritage.Chief Minister Sai described the programme as a transformative step toward positioning Chhattisgarh as a leading tourism destination. He said the Mukhyamantri Jan Paryatan Protsahan Yojana will play a crucial role in shaping the state’s tourism identity and making travel more inclusive for citizens.
