In a significant development based on source information, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has busted a criminal network involving an Advocate, Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT), Jaipur, one Judicial Member, ITAT, Jaipur, an Assistant Registrar, ITAT, Jaipur and other unknown public servants & private persons for indulging in corrupt activities for settling appeals pending in ITAT bench, Jaipur in favour of concerned appellants in lieu of bribe.
The CBI registered the instant case on November 25,2025 against the accused Advocate ITAT and others including Member and Assistant Registrar, Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT), Jaipur. During the operation, Rajendra Sisodia, Advocate, Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT), Jaipur, was arrested the same day with bribe amount of Rs. 5.5. lakhs paid by the appellant through hawala network. Subsequently, Dr. S. Seethalakshmi, Judicial Member, ITAT, Jaipur, was arrested next day,on Wednesday along with the recovery of Rs. 30 lakhs from her official car and later, the Mujmmel appellant was also arrested.
Further, a number of places were raided by multiple CBI teams at Jaipur, Kota and other places and seized cash amounting to more than Rs.1 Crore, transaction details, property documents and other incriminating documents indicating an organized syndicate. The search operation and follow up action is still in progress.
