The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two government officers in separate cases of bribery . The first case is related to Integrated Financial Advisor, Controller General of Defence Accounts, for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 3.5 lakh to clear a supply order for installation of CCTVs in an Air Force station, officials said on Friday. The owner of the CCTV company approached the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) claiming that Ashok Kumar Jadav, auditor/personnel of Integrated Financial Advisor (IFA), Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA), Gandhinagar (Gujarat) and an Air Force sergeant demanded a bribe of Rs 4 lakh, around 2 per cent of the total contract order of 2.5 crore, to clear it, the officials in Pune said. The CBI conducted a verification exercise but the sergeant did not answer the phone. However, his role was clear in the recordings submitted by the businessman, they said. The accused was arrested and produced before Spl. Judge, Pune after taking the transit remand from Spl Judge, Ahmedabad and has been remanded to Police Custody till October 4,2025.
The second case was registered by CBI on September 29,2025 against the Lakshmishankar Mathuraprasad Chief Office Superintendent, Divisional Railway Hospital, Hingoli Gate, Nanded on allegations that he demanded undue advantage of Rs. 25000/- from the complainant for clearing the work of processing of pending bill of Rs.91,576/- and Performance Guarantee of Rs.1.25 Lakh pertaining to the Housekeeping and Cleaning Contract in respect of a private company where the complainant is employed. After negotiation, the accused agreed to accept a bribe of Rs. 20,000/-
CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 20,000/- at his home in Nanded. Later, the accused was arrested the same day. CBI conducted searches at the residential and official premises of both the accused. Further investigation is underway.
