Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on Tuesday unveiled a 38-member cabinet — 28 ministers and 10 secretaries of state — which showcased a mix of new faces and experienced ministers to represent a “big change” from the prior Liberal government.Speaking outside of Rideau Hall, Carney promised to get rapidly to work with his new team. He said his cabinet is “smaller and more focused” than those of previous governments despite appointing roughly the same number of Privy Council members as Justin Trudeau’s final cabinet.Carney said half of his ministers are new in cabinet, and nine out of the 10 secretaries of state are new to a governing role.

There are 24 new faces including Shafqat Ali, Jill McKnight, Tim Hodgson, Eleanor Olszewski, Mandy Gull-Masty, Joël Lightbound, Gregor Robertson, Evan Solomon, Wayne Long and Nathalie Provost. Veterans François-Philippe Champagne, Chrystia Freeland and Dominic LeBlanc keep their existing roles.
Indian-origin Canadian politician Anita Anand took oath as the new foreign minister of the Mark Carney cabinet in Canada, as Canada navigates several foreign affairs challenges. With her hand on the Bhagavad Gita,Anita Anand who also becomes the first Hindu woman to become Canada's foreign minister took her oath.
