PM Narendra Modi on Monday said the emerging care economy has the potential to generate large-scale employment opportunities for India’s youth, as he addressed the fourth post-Budget webinar focused on fulfilling citizens’ aspirations through key social sectors.Speaking at the webinar themed “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas – Fulfilling Aspirations of People,” Modi highlighted the importance of sectors such as education, skills, healthcare, tourism, sports and culture in driving inclusive development and translating the announcements of the Union Budget of India into tangible outcomes.Welcoming policymakers, experts and stakeholders participating in the discussion, the Prime Minister said these sectors serve as critical channels through which the aspirations of citizens can be realised.“Fulfilling public aspirations is not just a subject; it is the core objective of this budget and the resolution of this government,” he said.

Highlighting India’s evolving healthcare ecosystem, Modi said the country is moving towards a vision of preventive and holistic healthcare, adding that health infrastructure has expanded significantly in recent years.“In the last few years, the country’s health infrastructure has become stronger. Medical colleges have opened in hundreds of districts, and through Ayushman Bharat Yojana and Arogya Mandirs, the reach of health services has been extended to every village,” he said.The Prime Minister also pointed to the rising global popularity of India’s traditional health practices such as Yoga and Ayurveda.
“Our Yoga and Ayurveda are becoming popular across the entire world,” he said.
Emphasising opportunities in the care economy, Modi noted that the growing global demand for caregivers could create substantial employment prospects for Indian youth. He urged health experts and institutions to develop innovative training models and partnerships to strengthen the country’s healthcare skill ecosystem.
Digital transformation and telemedicine
PM Modi also spoke about the expanding role of telemedicine in improving access to healthcare services, particularly in remote and rural areas.While acknowledging the progress made so far, he said greater public awareness and easier access to digital health platforms are needed to fully realise the benefits of telemedicine.
Turning to education and skills development, Modi stressed the need to align India’s education system with the requirements of the modern economy.“We must further accelerate the process of linking our education system with the real-world economy. We need to increase our focus on subjects such as AI and automation, the digital economy and design-driven manufacturing,” he said.The Prime Minister added that India is steadily moving toward an innovation-driven economy and called on academic institutions to transform campuses into centres of industry collaboration and research-driven learning.Calling for stronger support for research and innovation, Modi said young researchers must be encouraged to experiment and pursue new ideas.“We have to create such a research ecosystem where young researchers get full opportunity to experiment and work on new ideas,” he said.
Equal opportunities for women
Modi also emphasised the importance of ensuring equal opportunities for women in emerging sectors and future technologies.“As we prepare for futuristic technologies today, it is crucial that no daughter is held back due to a lack of opportunities,” he said.Highlighting the role of sports in national development, the Prime Minister said initiatives such as Khelo India have revitalised the sports ecosystem and strengthened sports infrastructure across the country.“In the last few years, sports have been seen as an important stream of national development. Initiatives like Khelo India have given new energy to the sports ecosystem,” he said.
He also underscored the economic potential of tourism and cultural development, saying that creating new tourist destinations can enhance city branding and generate employment.
“Trained guides, hospitality skills, digital connectivity and community participation are becoming the pillars of our tourism sector,” he said.
Additionally, PM Modi called for stronger synergy between government institutions, industry and academia to accelerate national development and ensure effective implementation of the Union Budget initiatives.“With such efforts, the foundation of a developed India will be further strengthened,” Modi said.
