BJP spreading hatred to divert attention, says Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader and MP Rahul Gandhi on Saturday attacked the BJP government for allegedly spreading hate using religious differences as a weapon. He took the swipe during a speech at the Red Fort after the Bharat Jodo Yatra reached the monument. Addressing a rally outside the Red Fort as the Congress's "Bharat Jodo Yatra" entered the national capital, Gandhi said he has not seen violence or hatred anywhere in the country while walking hundreds of kilometres from Kanyakumari to Delhi, but he sees it being spread on television all the time at the behest of the powers controlling the media. The former Congress chief also alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spent thousands of crores of rupees to destroy his image, but he has shown the truth to the country in just a month. He alleged that the government is "not Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government, but Ambani and Adani government".

Earlier, traffic was affected in parts of Delhi when  his yatra  marched into Delhi and later on in the vicinity of India Gate as they resumed their walk in the afternoon after a break. Vehicular movement was affected in southeast Delhi in the morning.

The Gandhi family walked together in the yatra earlier in the day as former party president Sonia Gandhi, her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren joined Gandhi in the march.
