In Karnataka, a couple has been arrested for murdering a 24-year-old gig worker over a minor road rage incident in Srirama Layout, Puttenahalli, Bengaluru A 24-year-old delivery agent Darshan was killed in a road rage incident after a couple allegedly rammed his gearless scooter with their car from behind. The accident on the evening of October 25 has now been upgraded to murder based on CCTV footage that confirmed that the attack was made intentionally. According to police sources, Darshan and his friend Varun G, both food delivery executives were riding a bike and brushed the side of a car breaking the mirror. Scared of the backlash, the duo fled the scene.
However, the occupants of the car Manoj Kumar, 34, who runs a martial arts training academy in Gottigere and his wife Aarti Sharma, 30, chased them for over 2 km. They deliberately rammed their car into the bike and fled even as the duo on the bike fell down. Though both were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, Darshan was declared brought dead and Varun has suffered severe injuries and is being treated. The entire incident was caught on camera, a purported footage of which has surfaced online.

While a hit-and-run case was initially filed, it was the CCTV footage that changed the course of the probe following which, a murder case was registered and handed over to the Puttenahalli police who tracked down the couple, arrested them and booked them for murder and destruction of evidence.
