The Bombay High Court on Thursday granted bail to actor Shahrukh Khan's son Aryan.after three weeks in jail. Aryan Khan's friend Arbaaz Merchant, and model Munmum Dhamecha, were also granted bail. He has been in custody since October 3, hours after raids on a cruise ship party by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).The Bombay high court on Thursday heard the case for the third consecutive day. Justice NW Sambre allowed bail to the three accused after hearing former AG Mukul Rohatgi for Aryan Khan and ASG Anil Singh for the Narcotics Control Bureau.
While the NCB opposed the bail by reiterating that Aryan Khan was not new to drugs and dealt with peddlers, Mukul Rohatgi contested that the NCB could not prove any conspiracy as it has claimed. Additional solicitor general Anil Singh said Aryan was not a first-time but regular consumer of drugs and he was in touch with peddlers. “There was mention of bulk drugs. Considering that, the offence is non-bailable,” Singh said, adding all the offences in the case are non-bailable under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
