A year flew by,
In wanting to try;
To do everything better,
In spirit and letter;
To outdo another,
Add one more feather;
Eat healthy,
Become wealthy;
Look presentable,
Travel or settle;
Learn a craft,
Finalize the draft;
Declutter, write a will,
Meditate, be calm and still;
Quit smoke and drink,
Reach and return from the brink;
Exit and restart,
Lose one's heart;
Forget someone,
Reverse the damage done;
Love, break up and fight,
Be morally upright;
Study and succeed,
Follow or lead;
Get the coveted admission,
Retain the connection;
Meet and part ways,
Learn that evil never pays;
Sleep and health and cure,
Increase the capacity to endure;
The gone year,
Was so so dear;
The year 2024,
Will take over ably for sure;
The end of the last year was the beginning,
Of a New Year that's cheering and endearing!.
