Amit Shah unveils statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Rajasthan

Nation on Sunday pay homage to former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his tribute to former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary. “Remembering Atal Ji on his Punya Tithi. An extraordinary statesman blessed with remarkable vision, he dedicated his life to the service of our nation. His words and efforts inspired generations and his leadership strengthened our nation. His focus on good governance and public welfare will always continue to guide us,” the Prime Minister posted on X.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee spent a long period in the Opposition before becoming Prime Minister, but he never compromised on his principles. He said this is why Vajpayee was known as “Ajatshatru” – a person without enemies.  Shah was addressing a programme in Nimbahera in Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan on Sunday after unveiling a statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Shah  accused the Congress of “shamelessness” over an alleged attempt to stop the rendition of Vande Mataram midway during the party’s Independence Day programme, saying the “sin” would not be forgiven by the people. The anthem Vande Mataram was being sung at the Congress Party headquarters. During the anthem, Congress leader Sonia Gandhi told the Congress President to stop singing. We all just kept watching on TV,” Shah said.

In Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with former Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu, inaugurated 25 Atal canteens across the city on Sunday, marking the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The canteens situated outside hospitals, including AIIMS and LNJP, and in slum clusters in Janakpuri, Vikaspuri and other parts of the city, were inaugurated via remote control. Gupta said within 7-8 months, the Delhi government established and operationalised 100 canteens to provide meals at Rs 5 per plate to 1 lakh needy people, including slum dwellers, daily wagers, construction workers and others.
