Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday met Morocco’s Minister of Trade, Ryad Mezzour, in Rabat to discuss ways to deepen cooperation in key sectors including defence, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals, the Ministry of Defence said. Later, during a function, Singh said that, along with Make in India, we are also working on Make with Friends. Under this initiative, we will collaborate with trusted partners to develop and produce cutting-edge technologies. Ultimately, through “Make for the World,” the benefits of our innovation will be shared with the entire world, he said. Rajnath Singh was addressing the inaugural function of the Tata Advanced Systems Maroc’s new manufacturing facility at Berrechid in Morocco. The facility being established in Berrechid is an excellent example of this very vision, he said.

This unit will produce the Wheeled Armoured Platform (WhAP) 8×8. This marks the first Indian defence manufacturing plant in Africa, a major milestone in India’s efforts to boost defence exports under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
