All is not well in Karnataka BJP

In Karnataka, all is seems to be not well in the BJP government. According to sources Karnataka in-charge Arun Singh,who is on Bangaluru visit recieved such feedback which shows the rising dessent against Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa. According to reports, BJP leader H Vishwanath has reportedly told Singh that  CM Yediyurappa has "lost the spirit" to run the government and dynastic politics has become prevalent in the state. Vishwanath said he respects CM Yediyurappa but he is now old and has lost spirit. He also said dynastic politics was taking place in Karnataka, which is against the principles of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

"All ministers are unhappy with the Yediyurappa government," he said after his meeting with Arun Singh. Vishwanath also alleged "continuous interference" by the Yediyurappa family in the state government and administration. "In all the departments, his son's interference is more," he remarked. Vishwanath was among the 18 MLAs whose defection to the BJP led to the collapse of the Janata Dal Secular-Congress government and helped the BJP and Mr Yediyurappa take power in 2019. Vishwanath, a former JDS MLA, had revolted against then Chief Minister HD Kumaraswami and his father and party chief HD Deve Gowda to join the BJP. But he lost the by-election to the seat he vacated and lost out on a ministry unlike comrades who were rewarded for their role in bringing the BJP to power.

Latest reason of dissent is said started after the Karnataka Cabinet gave a green signal to the sale of 3,667 acres land to JSW steel in Bellary which did not go down well with MLAs.This land deal was floated by the HD Kumaraswamy-led JD(S)-Congress government. Back then, the BJP had opposed it and even staged a dharna against it. Four BJP MLAs wrote to the chief minister, stating they don't agree with the government's decision and it is against the party's ethos. In February also many ministers and other party leaders put pressure on the Karnataka government to  extent cast based reservation to sects such as Panchamasali Lingayats and Kurubas.

So far, the BJP leadership has backed Yediyurappa, a powerful Lingayat leader who remains their first Chief Minister in the south and one of their most powerful faces in Karnataka. Both groups- CM's favourits and dissendent visited elhi also and apprised the situation to the party high command. Now final decision lies with the high command.
