Afghan Taliban's security forces and Pakistani military have clashed on Durand Line in the Dangam district of eastern Kunar province. According to Afghanistan media outlets, the clashes took place on Sunday and continued until late night. The reports said that Both sides used light as well as heavy weapons. Quoting Taliban official, the media said that the incident occurred because the Pakistani military planned to construct a post and put up barbed wire in the Bain-e-Shahi region of Dangam district in Kunar province close to the Durand Line. It said, after the clash, Pakistani forces fired mortar shells in the Dangam area.
According to the Taliban’s Head of Information and Culture Department in Kunar province, Najibullah Hanif, there were no casualties and the situation is now resolved.The ties between Taliban-led Afghanistan and Pakistan have been exacerbated by recent border tensions. Last month, reports emerged from border standoff in Balochistan and Nimroz provinces between the two countries. The Taliban forces have repeatedly started severe armed clashes with the neighboring nations since assuming control in mid-August of last year, especially near the borders with Tajikistan, Iran, and Pakistan.
