Salil Choudhury finally decided to take Manna Dey in the place of Kishore Kumar for Rajesh Khanna who pressurized Hrishikesh Mukherjee for Kishore. 
But Salil said they were going to hear an immortal song from Manna Dey.

How prophetic was Salil ! Anand film is incomplete without this song and Mukesh’s ‘kahi door jab din dhal jaye’ - both songs were not sung by Kishore Kumar.
However, the film is superhit and Rajesh Khan's performance is unforgettable.
