Three more daughters of Lalu Yaday on Sunday moved out of the Patna home as the crisis in the family intensified. As per information, Rajlakshmi, Ragini, and Chanda, left the family’s Patna residence with their children. The sources said that all of them travelled to Delhi. There departure signal led widening gap in the Lalu family following the humiliating defeat in the just concluded assembly polls as the party could only manage to win 25 seats as compared to 75 seats it had won in 2020 assembly polls.
The internal rift in the Lalu family came to fore after Rohini Acharya, Lalu Prasad’s daughter, who is based in Singapore and is a doctor by profession, who had also donated her kidney on Saturday announced publicly that she was quitting politics and disowning her family. The trouble in Lalu family began first with the expulsion of Tej Pratap Yadav as he floated his own party. Just before the schedule of assembly election, Rohini Acharya had hinted that how everything was not good in the party as well as family due to Tejashwi’s over reliance on Sanjay Yadav. Their departure leaves the once-bustling political nerve centre of the RJD with only Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Misa Bharti.
Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi are parents to seven daughters and two sons, making theirs one of the largest and most politically recognised families in the state. Their children, in order of age, are Misa Bharti, followed by Rohini Acharya, Chanda Singh, Ragini Yadav, Hema Yadav and Anushka Rao.Their sons are Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav, both active in Bihar politics.
