Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday held talks with Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer to discuss ways to tap the full potential of the bilateral partnership.Discussions covered various dimensions of the bilateral partnership, including trade & investment, S&T, green energy, AI, Start-ups, environment & climate change, cultural cooperation and people to people ties. The leaders also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer on Wednesday called for an end to the Russia-Ukraine war. At a joint presser with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer said, "We had very intensive talks about the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. For me, as the Federal Chancellor of Austria, it is particularly important to get to know India's assessment and to understand it and familiarise India with European concerns and worries."

Earlier, Australian artists welcomed Modi with a rendition of Vande Mataram. The choir and orchestra were led by Vijay Upadhyaya.Upadhyaya, 57, was born in Lucknow. In 1994 he became director of the Vienna University Philharmony. He is the Austrian representative on the jury of experts for the evaluation of European Union culture projects and is the founder and artistic director of the India National Youth Orchestra.

Modi arrived Austria from Moscow on Tuesday evening on a two-day visit, the first by an Indian prime minister in over 40 years.Modi received a ceremonial Guard of Honour ahead of talks at the Federal Chancellory here. He also signed the guest book.
