The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Dr. Natasha Verma, Additional Director, CGHS, Meerut (UP) and her Private Assistant Sunny in a bribery case. CBI registered the instant case on April30 against Private Assistant to Additional Director, Swasthya Bhawan, CGHS, Suraj Kund Road, Meerut (UP) in connection with demand of bribe of Rs. 80,000 on behalf of officers/officials for facilitating transfer of a CGHS staff from Moradabad to Meerut.
The CBI laid a trap. During the trap proceedings, both the accused-Private Assistant and Additional Director agreed to accept the bribe amount of Rs. 50,000 from the complainant and subsequently Private Assistant was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe amount of Rs. 50,000 on behalf of Additional Director, CGHS. Both the accused persons, the Additional Director and her Private Assistant have been arrested by the CBI.
